About Me

My husband and I moved to Harleysville about 5 years ago. In that time, our garden has grown from a few tomatoes and peppers in pots on the front porch to a huge fenced in vegetable garden, berry beds, and a newly planted orchard. As our garden grew so did my home preserving efforts.

The first year of canning I stuck with traditional recipes that made large batches of jams, salsas, and pickles. As I became more comfortable with the process, I started reading and developing more "gourmet" recipes and made them in smaller batches. Since it's just the two of us - this gives our pantry more variety and allows me to experiment with new variations of classic recipes without feelings like I've "wasted" food if something doesn't turn out the way I expect.

This summer I will be continuing to develop and perfect recipes, and will be selling at a few local farmer's markets. I will buy all the produce from local farms in the area (or harvest from my own garden) and will develop recipes that maintain the flavor of the fruit. My hope is that you will be transported to summer when you pop open a jar of my Tomato Spread in the middle of winter. Or that your summer burgers are topped off with crisp tart pickled onions.

Visit the "What We're Making" page to see the recipes I'm mixing up.

Visit the "Recipes" page to get a few ideas on different ways to use a product. There will be a variety of dishes that use fruit spreads and salsas in different ways - from sweet desserts, yummy drinks, savory sandwiches, and easy crockpot dinners.

Visit the "Where We'll Be" page to get an idea of which farmer's markets we'll be at each week. This first year will be a little spotty while I figure out the best recipes and locations that work best for you.

Thanks to all my friends and family who have encouraged me to give this a try! I look forward to seeing you all at a market this summer!
